After days of neglecting the sculpture (I was letting it dry?) I finally got around to finishing it. I present to you, my very first wet moulding clay sculpture attempt -Kislap. I put in all my admiration for this group of people into making this piece. "Kislap", the Filipino word for "twinkle" or "spark" -they are the LEDs in my dimly lit room.

I have to say, working with wet clay is difficult. Sometimes, it gets too wet, or the the texture you want won't show or shows a little too much, getting proportions right, getting small details when you don't have the right tools. I had to makeshift tools from pencil points and paperclips. It also went through numerous paint jobs. At first, I tried to make it colours representing each person I thought of but I didn't like how it looked. I then decided on dots because they looked more like LEDs which I thought was the perfect thing to represent them. I think it turned out really well for my first attempt.
